Denny's to Dionysus Website: UX/UI
This project is a hypothetical brand reframe for Denny's. If you aren't familiar with this nationwide icon, Denny's is a 24-hour, family-friendly chain restaurant that serves diner-style food and caters to large parties, late-night eaters, and travelers. We have moved forward with this rebrand to change their position to an upscale Late Night Cocktail & Brunch Eatery. This position caters to the same dynamic of folks while integrating more complex menus, cocktails, and elevated restaurant branding. For our purposes, we have also renamed this iteration as Dionysus, Dionysus, the Ancient Greek God of wine, orchards and fruit, vegetation, and festivity, to reflect this change as well.
With the branding itself, we have updated the current bright primary color palette to a dark and moody palette to emulate the night sky. This reflects the hours and focus on the late night and twilight hours of operation. Within the coloring and the updated design elements, there are also plays on Dionysus, such as revamping the logo to include a constellation while still maintaining an echo of the original shape. Another nod to the name Dionysus is the focus on local produce in the menu concepts.
